PlushBeds is an America-based company that manufacturers luxury mattresses (including PlushBeds 10″ Botanical Bliss mattress in review), bedding and accessories.

Their product lines including natural latex, memory foam and cool gel mattress, but their Botanical Bliss series is one of the most popular product and highest rated latex mattress out there.
In fact, it has received the highest overall rating by consumers out of all the latex mattresses we have reviewed on our site, despite its higher asking price.
While user ratings are often a good indication of its quality, you should know the details of a mattress before making a purchase, considering you’ll spend a good number of years sleeping on it.
Therefore, in this PlushBeds Botanical Bliss Latex mattress review, we will go through the specifications of the mattress, what users say about the product, prices and warranties compared to other brands, as well as the pros and cons in order to help you make the best buying decision.
PlushBeds 10″ Botanical Bliss Latex Mattress Review
It is clear that PlushBeds aims for safety and comfort in the design of Botanical Bliss mattress, as the materials used are fully organic and of high quality.
In fact, it is the only mattress that is certified by not only Certi-Pur, but also Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS) and GreenGuard Gold (more details on certifications below) in our recommendation list.
The Botanic Bliss mattress is constructed using 3 layers of natural latex, topped by a layer of organic cotton cover and Joma New Zealand wool respectively.
- Top Cover: Cotton cover made from Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified organic cotton. The cotton cover is knitted instead of woven to resist wrinkles and prevents it from becoming permanently distorted.
- 2nd Cover: Hypoallergenic Joma New Zealand wool to help with air circulation and cooling, which is ideal for users who are allergic to feather or synthetic bedding products. Wool’s dry nature keeps dust mites away, while its high keratin protein makes it naturally resistant to flames.
- Top Layer: 2″ Natural Tatalay Latex comfort layer. This layer provides bounce and conducts heat away along with Joma New Zealand wool cover, contributing to the cooling nature of this Botanical Bliss mattress.
- Middle Layer: 3″ Natural Tatalay Latex comfort layer. This thicker layer is immediately below the first layer and provide support for pressure-relief.
- Bottom Layer: 6″ ARPICO Organic Latex core that is specially vulcanized for a denser feel to absorb pressure while simultaneously being supportive. This layer gives adequate firmness to mattress to prevent sagging over time.
PlushBeds offers 4 different levels of firmness to accommodate the needs of the masses:
- Soft (ILD 19-21)
- Medium (ILD 24-26)
- Medium-Firm (ILD 29-31)
- Extra-Firm (ILD 34-36)
One unique feature of the Botanical Bliss mattress is the ability to change firmness level anytime you want. The 3 layers of organic latex can be rearranged to create varying levels of firmness as they are not glued together.
Most customers are satisfied with the medium firmness, where the soft latex layer is placed on top, supported by a medium-firm comfort layer and a firm bottom layer. This is also their most popular product.
According to PlushBeds’ market research, the medium firmness achieves a ILD rating of 24-26, which provides a perfect balance between comfort and support.
A mattress with a low ILD rating is very cushy on the body but provides little to no support. On the other hand, a mattress with high ILD rating provides great support but is hard on your shoulders, hips and knees.
If your Tatalay mattress layer is either too firm or too soft for any reason, PlushBeds offers a free, 100 night in-home comfort adjustment with $0 shipping fees.
Certifications of PlushBeds Botanical Bliss Latex Mattress
PlushBeds claims that their Botanical Bliss mattress is very rigorously tested for safety and is conferred multiple certifications including Certi-Pur, Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS), GreenGuard Gold.
But what do these certifications mean to the average buyers?
First we talk about GOTS and GOLS certifications, as they are some of the most stringent qualifications available for latex mattresses.
GOTS requires that at least 95% of the materials used in mattress be certified organic, and it prohibits the use of certain substances even for the other 5%, including chemical flame-retardant and polyurethrane, the main component of memory foams.
PlushBeds Botanical Bliss Latex mattress uses the Joma New Zealand wool that is naturally flame-resistant, thereby avoiding the use of chemical flame retardant.
The outermost cotton layer used by this mattress is also GOTS certified organic cotton, which ensures organic integrity is maintained along the way.
GOLS requires that a product contain minimum 95% certified organic raw material of the total weight, with restrictions on the other 5% of the mattress’s components.
In addition to the use of organic raw material, this standard also concentrates on aspects such as human health, safety and welfare, and environment in the manufacturing process of organic latex products.
PlushBeds uses ARPICO organic latex as the core and bottom layer of Botanical Bliss Latex mattress instead of polyurethrane memory foam, granting it the GOLS certification.
Being CertiPur certified means that the mattress does not contain PBDE flame retardants, mercury, lead and heavy metals, as well as formaldehyde and forbidden phthalates.
Lastly, the GreenGuard Gold certification requires testing of finished mattress for specific emission limits of formaldehyde and other volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that are harmful to human health.
According to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) website, VOC can cause health effects such as ENT irritation, headache and nausea, damage to liver, kidney and central nervous system, and it is even suspected to cause cancer in humans.
What do these certifications tell us? They confirm that PlushBeds uses 100% organic and natural latex in the construction of the mattress, no harmful chemicals and VOCs are released in-doors, and it is safe for human use over a long period of time.
These certifications are becoming more important and shaping up to be a gold standard of the industry due to reports of toxic chemicals found in certain mattresses.
If you have young children at home, these certifications should become a major consideration in your purchasing process.

Is the Mattress Worth Its Asking Price?
The latex used in most mattresses is actually a blended composite of natural (NR) latex and synthetic (SBR) latex, which is made of petroleum based plasticizers and other petrochemicals.
Mattresses that do not contain any synthetic components, pesticides, herbicides or other man-made materials (such as PlushBeds Botanical Bliss) are considered 100% organic and classified as such by the U.S Department of Agricultural (USDA).
The ratio of NR and SBR latex in the comfort layers of a mattress often correlates strongly with both the price and overall quality of the product.
Models with high percentage of NR latex are more resilient, longer-lasting and comfortable for sleeping, and thus tend to be more expensive than their competitors.
PlushBeds Botanical Bliss Latex mattress is a 100% organic latex, which contributes to its significantly higher prices compared to its competitors.
However, given its versatility (ability to change firmness by adjusting comfort layers), durability (100% organic latex) and rigorous safety certifications, this PlushBeds mattress may be a worthwhile investment if you are planning to use it for at least a few years.
What Do People Say About PlushBeds Mattress?

No matter where we look, the PlushBeds Botanic Bliss mattress has received overwhelmingly positive reviews from its customers.
As of the time of writing, there are 85 customer reviews on Amazon, with 99% of them awarding 5 stars and 1% awarding 4 stars.
At PlushBeds’ website, the mattress scores a similarly impressive 4.9/5 rating, with 88% of customers rated it 5 stars and 12% rated it 4 stars.
There are currently no negative reviews for the mattress from any of these sites.
As a company, PlushBeds has received an excellent 9.6/10 rating based on 399 customer reviews on trustpilot.com, a reputable resource for authentic customer service reviews.
Most customers reported a huge improvement in chronic back and neck pain with the use of Botanical Bliss mattress, which provides better support compared to synthetic latex and memory foam mattresses.
According to PlushBeds, the 10″ Botanical Bliss mattresses is a common recommendation by orthopedic specialists and chiropractors because of the strong support for back and neck.
Medium firmness with IDL 24-26 is by far the more popular choice as it provides good balance of comfort and support.
Some customers also commented on the mattress’ ability to absorb vibrations, which does a good job in isolating individual movements without disturbing the sleeping partner.
It’s worth noting that while this may be true for firmer variants of the mattress (medium and above), customers who go for low firmness (IDL 19-21) may experience more disturbance from a moving partner due to its cushy nature.
We expected at least some users to comment negatively on its price, but surprisingly there was none.
Instead, customers are universally satisfied with the improved sleep quality they get for the price, which speaks volume about the quality of the mattress.

Should You Buy PlushBeds Botanical Bliss Mattress?
Based on the overwhelmingly good reviews for the Botanical Bliss mattress, you are almost guaranteed to be satisfied with your purchase.
However, as sleeping preference is highly subjective, there are a few criteria that you should consider before making your purchase.
If budget is a big concern, you may want to consider other cheaper alternatives, such as the Eco Terra, Lucid 16″ or Casper Sleep mattresses that also score relatively high satisfaction at a much lower price point.
Most home owners use a mattress for at least a decade, so warranty is often one of the top considerations. PlushBeds, along with Lucid offer some of the longest warranties in the industry with a whopping 25 years.
The only downfall of PlushBeds Botanical Bliss mattress seems to be its higher price point, but it is justified by the use of 100% organic latex which is more resilient and comfortable.
If you have chronic neck and back pain, or if you value the sleeping quality over a steeper price point, the highly acclaimed PlushBeds mattress will be a fitting choice for you.
